Even More Antique Technology

Speaking of St. Maria Goretti (see elsewhere among the comments) it seems to me that ice picks and razors are still mentioned nowadays as weapons. Obviously the razor spoken of is the cutthroat kind that folds up like a knife.  Where exactly would those desiring to inflict harm acquire these tools?  My family kitchen drawer when I was a kid contained an ice pick, and from time to time it was used for something -- in place of an awl -- but it surely had descended from a refrigeratorless age in the dim past.  (Though we still called that storage unit -- as I still today sometimes do --an icebox.)  Can you still get an icepick at Woolworth's?  Or Wal-Mart?
